Gail Marie Johnstone (Principal)
Gail has danced from age of 4. At 16, she successfully auditioned for the Royal Ballet School and later continued her training at Laine Theatre Arts. After an extensive performing career, with the Swedish Ballet Company and Arlene Phillips ‘Hot Gossip’ on her list of achievements, Gail is the owner and creative force behind Turning Point Theatre Arts. Nicola Buccelli (Teacher and Choreographer)
Whilst training as a youngster, Nicola became a Junior Associate with the Royal Ballet School. At 16 she received a full scholarship and continued her vocational training at the prestigious Hammond School in Chester. Read more about Nicola
Harriet Johnstone (Teacher)
Former TP pupil Harriet, has recently graduated from the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts gaining her Ba Honours degree in Acting. Harriet is also a highly proficient dancer and has reached an advanced standard in all her grades and genres. Read more about Harriet
Holly Johnstone (Guest Teacher)
Former pupil, Holly has achieved so much at her young age. Not only does she hold many championships, she has won endless awards and at 14 years old was crowned Britain’s most talented young circus artiste. She has been an associate with the Hammond School, SLP, Cecchetti and the BBO and trained full time at the National Centre for Circus Arts, where she gained her degree. Read more about Holly
Melinda Brookes (Teacher – lower school)
Melinda started dancing at the age of 2 and a half. Aged 16, she was accepted by the Urdang Academy in London, on the full time performing arts course, but chose to continue her studies at Durham University, where she gained her degree in “Sport, Health and Exercise”. Read more about Melinda
Vicky Whitehouse (Teacher- lower school)
Vicky commenced dancing at aged 2 and a half and has been teaching here since the age of 16, where she began as an apprentice. Vicky continued her full time training on the dance course at Edge Hill University, where she gained her degree. Read more about Vicky
Phillip Pye (Teacher)
Phillip commenced training from 3 years old, following in his sister’s footsteps by becoming a junior associate with the Royal Ballet School and going on to complete his vocational training at the Hammond School. Read more about Phillip
Kathy Clarke and Chloe Dixon (student teachers)
Both Kathy and Chloe are currently training to teach dance. Kathy attends Studio 10 in Liverpool studying Musical Theatre and Dance teaching and has achieved Advanced 1 Modern and Tap and Grade 6 Ballet. Chloe attends Preston College studying Professional Dance and dance teaching and has achieved Intemediate Modern and Grade 6 Tap and Ballet.
Alison Disberry (Guest Teacher)
Alison started dancing from aged 2 and a half. She was a junior associate with the Hammond School, SLP and Cecchetti. Having gained her degree in Dance Performance at Middlesex University. Read more about Alison
Geraldine Dixon (Admin Officer and accounts)
Geraldine was a former pupil here at TP and her interest in dance has never left her. Geraldine completed her degree at Newcastle University in Maths and Psychology and gained her PGCE from Liverpool University. Read more about Geraldine
Emma Wearing (Admin/caterer)
Emma is our admin assistant. Having danced from a young age and encouraging her children to perform, she has always expressed a passionate interest in dance and the performing arts industry. Read more about Emma.
